Part of the First Chapter of Follow the Stars

It could be, Astra would think later, described as fate.

She didn’t like to attribute things to fate. That could’ve been because the Fates were smug bitches that just loved to remind her of her attempts to avoid becoming a goddess. That could also have been because of the many ways her domain was linked to fate. It’s written in the stars, star crossed lovers, etcetera.

That was later, at any rate.

It began in a bar. It wasn’t a bad bar, all things considered. She did have some class after all.

Unfortunately, so did a certain sun god.

Astra  would have been quite happy to ignore him whilst she drank but by the time she’d realized who the drunk blond was, she had already sat down.

She had turned to look at him and he had raised his head at the same time, leaving them both staring at each other in mutual shock.

Astra had been the one to shake it off first. She turned to the bartender and asked for a margarita, deciding that she would deal with the idiot beside her later.
