‘If you are to kill me,’ he began, ‘kill me softly.’
Her stare hardened, hands clutching the ivory sword until her knuckles turned white. He looks into her eyes and realizes the chances of that happening are slim.
‘Please…’
Something in her eyes flickered. Something that made them soften, and suddenly she sucked in a deep breath.
A single tear ran down her cheek, and he thought she would agree to his final wish. She dropped the sword and a loud clang echoed in the cold marble ball room; it was much different than the sounds of terror and screams coming from outside. The sounds were somewhat distant, but that did not matter. They were still there.
A loud and horrible sound of skin ripping came from the place where his heart was. A drop of crimson fell on the white marble floor. His heart had been ripped out.
