Waves crashed against the ship, sending it rocking hazardously towards the stone dock. Morgan struggled to keep his balance on the soaked surface of the dock and looked over towards the dark blue haired woman who had put a stop to his exploration of the tomb of the Snake.
“Does this usually happen at this time of the year?” he shouted over the wind and, for a moment, he thought she hadnāt heard him.
“No,” she finally yelled back, letting go of the railing with one hand to brush her fringe away from her eyes, “storm season was in the spring. We usually get a warning from the-”
She cut herself off and stared straight at the hole in the sea that had just opened up. In an instant, a large, dark whale-like shape leapt from within and landed on the other side of his ship.
“We usually get a warning,” she began again, “from the birds. Usually, itās the sea daemon thatās the source.ā
"And is it?”
She shook her head. “It canāt be. The sea daemon is humanoid.”
Not really that shocking but I tried!
