‘Usually,’ Mallory decided as she blinked herself awake, ‘I would be at least mildly concerned to wake up surrounded by breathing bodies.’
“Someone’s head is on my stomach. Which one of you idiots does it belong to?” she asked, using the only arm that wasn’t pinned by someone to brush her hair out of her face.
“I think it’s Leander,” Milo said from somewhere to her right. She heard him move around for a few seconds before stopping. “Yep, it is.”
“Ah,” she nodded despite knowing he probably wouldn’t be able to see it. “Wait…why is he on me?! Why isn’t he on you?!”
“What’s that supposed to mean!?”
“Oh my god, will you shut up?” the man in question half rolled over to bury his face in her stomach. “She’s more comfortable to use as a pillow.”
“I do have a name ya know,” Mallory grumbled, moving her foot slightly and inadvertently jabbing someone in the ribs.
“Ow! Would you not do that?”
“Connally, why are you lying on my feet?”
“It isn’t just your feet,” Alois spoke up from her left, Mallory was pretty sure he was the one lying on her arm. “He’s lying on mine as well.”
“Mine too,” Raine spoke up from somewhere down near her right hip.
“I said I didn’t want him near me,” Daniele admitted, “he was very upset about it.”
“Why wouldn’t I be? It was hurtful!” Connally finally butted into the conversation, glaring up at them from down at the end of the bed.
“You should be used to it by now.”
“If you dont shut up and go back to sleep, I will set something on fire,” Akirou threatened, moving enough for Mallory to realise her head was on his arm.
They went quiet and Mallory was almost asleep again when someone spoke up. It was Milo.
“Why is the bed so big anyway?”
“Because Akirou wanted a bed big enough to fit a harem in. That’s why,” she answered.
