It’s not obvious at first, just look at the people and how bright and colorful they are! Seriously, they’re colorful, they are able to have features any color from the rainbow, save for white and black. The majority even have powers and all of them can manipulate how they age! There’s bioluminescent plants and really cool fauna. You can’t leave trash out for long periods of time or else the very atmosphere will grant it life, and so many other things.
But it’s cold and there are no stars.
The sky is a permanent lilac color, the grass is yellow and brittle, and the moon can barely shine enough to illuminate the ground below.
There’s already dangerous creatures out in the wild that make travel dangerous but at night there’s Shadow Monsters that roam the earth, devouring anyone they come across. Not many have come across these creatures and lived.
Strangely, these monsters do not seem to be native to Sewoa.
All of the towns in Sewoa have walls around them. The gates are big and solid and go down an hour before sundown. Watchmen patrol the walls to make sure that no one and no thing is trying to sneak in. If even one monster manages to get in the town then there can be so much damage….
The afore mentioned bioluminescent plants? Everywhere. It lines the paths between the towns and are in the alley ways of the towns. It used to be so much dimmer before the Sewoans bred it to be so bright that just one plant could light up a room. No matter how they bred it, they still can’t get the plants to last longer when plucked.
The Kapital is the largest city in Sewoa. Many people dream of going there once in their lives. It’s so large and so old that you can see where the walls used to be. No one remembers what the Kapitol used to be called. The Guild of Travelers are based there. Travelers are the only ones allowed to leave the capitol. If you want to leave your town then you must wait for a Traveler to come to your town so you can have protection from the various monsters in Sewoa.
There are no C’s or Y’s in the Sewoan alphabet.
Science is important to Sewoa. It’s how they managed to harness the electricity from the lighting storms that happen on a yearly basis to power whole towns. Its how they managed to make products that save space so Travelers could carry more with them and act as merchants to other towns. It’s how they figured ut ways to make more products with less because it’s too dangerous to gather materials for days on end.
The only underdeveloped areas of science are astronomy, because there are no stars, and archaeology.
But if you look for ruins in the right place then you can find evidence that there used to be stars and there used to be a blue sky.
The world is dying but it’s dying too slowly for anyone to notice.
