Since I last posted about the McAllistair family, a lot has gone down.

Vera aged up into a child a little while ago. She became best friends with Lucas Munch and developed a bit of a crush on him, he also got a crush on her. They both aged up into teens and, as they still liked each other, they started going out.

Tbh, she’s the only McAllistair sister with a non-drama filled love life.

Noelle, on the other hand, started dating Candy Behr a while before they aged up. She moved out of San Myshuno into a house in Windenburg, asked Candy to move in with her and then, at the Romance Festival, Candy proposed. They got married without any guests, mainly because it would have been awkward with her sister who’s still angry at her for sleeping with her then gf and Yuki Behr once dated Chana so she’s kinda on her side in all of this.

Maven Moon started dating Jace Bell in high school and he’s currently working up the courage to ask her to move in with him.

Finally, Chana is still living with her parents and little sister. She’s dating no one and is currently looking for an apartment. She’s spending more time exercising to get her fitness skill up to level 10. I’m not even kidding, She’s the skinniest in her family and I had no say in that.

Showcase Saturday

So when I was debating what I wanted to do for my follower milestone I got the idea of doing a weekly feature (similar to some other ones already here) of different creators and their WIPs.

Thus we will now have Showcase Saturdays. Where Ill make a post about the person’s blog and their WIP as well as just showing off different excerpts/moodboards/intros/etc. From that person that I enjoyed or think others will want to see. Basically Saturdays, along with my normal random postings, will be dedicated to showing off the wonderful creators on writeblr! This is not exclusive to writeblrs either, artists, really any creators, are welcome too!

“I thought I’d find you up here.”

Morgan half turned at the sound of Nenet’s voice. She stood slightly behind him on his right, still wearing that long dress the noble lady she was friends with had given her. She’d discarded the jewellery and the sandals, he noted, and she must have wiped the make-up off as well.

She looked nice, he decided, more like herself and less like a noblewoman.

He turned back to the night sky and exhaled. “Did you?”

“Well,” she sat down beside him and drew her knees up to her chest, “it was either here or the ship and I know Maurice stayed behind to make sure you didn’t try to sneak off.”

“He probably decided to drink as much beer as he could and passed out.”

Nenet threw her head back and laughed, not one of those fake tittering laughs that the women in the ballroom below did but a full on, from the stomach, laugh. It suited her, almost as much as the quiet chuckles she did whenever someone said or did something so stupid that you just had to laugh.

Morgan wished that Maurice hadn’t prompted his realisation about what he felt for Nenet. It made things a lot more complicated, especially as he was noticing small things about her that he wouldn’t have otherwise.

Like how her lips pursed slightly when she was looking over maps and scrolls and how she always went out early in the morning to feel the sea air on her skin and how she sometimes mouthed the chants she used to summon creatures when she was thinking.

“Alyss must have joined him then,” Nenet said, rolling her eyes at Morgan’s distracted demeanour.

“Really?” he looked at her with an amused smile on his face. “What are they gonna do, drink together?”

“You never know!” Nenet rested her head on his shoulder and laughed. “They are good friends though and I wouldn’t put it passed Alyss to try and drink.”

Despite his internal panicking over the fact that she was in his personal space and he didn’t know what to do, Morgan let out a throaty laugh.

“You know some weird people, desert dweller.”

“I know you, don’t I?”

Morgan looked so offended that Nenet almost chocked on her laughter.

Fantasy Guide to Addressing Nobility

It can be hard to remember how to properly address your noble or royal characters when writing a fantasy court. Here is a quick guide:

1. King/Queen:

Usually addressed as either “Your Grace” or “Your Majesty”. Consort (married to a ruler and not reigning in their own right) can be addressed the same. Sire or Madam can be used also.

2. Prince/Princess:

They are addressed as “Your Highness”. They are NEVER addressed the same as a King or Queen

3. Duke/Duchess:

These are addressed with “Your Grace”. This was a common term also used by royalty before Henry VIII got to big for his codpiece.

4. Earl (Count)/Countess:

Are almost never referred as the “Earl of Narnia” but “Lord Narnia”.

5. Lord/Lady:

An easy one. They are called “My Lord” or “My Lady”.

6. Emperor/Empress:

These may be equal to a King/Queen for status but the have a grander title. They are only addressed as “Your Imperial Highness/Majesty”
