World Building for FGS pt.4 Laman

  • Coldest place tbh. Also the 2nd most remote continent after Saguaro. Both of them are pretty far from the others but Saguaro is more difficult to actually find.
  • Known for being the biggest producer of ice crystals which keep everything nice and cool. Like cats. Or meat.
  • Is also the biggest source of fish because they eat a lot of it and there isn’t really a lot of edible plant life because of the cold.
  • Laman itself isn’t actually icy despite being freezing. Most attribute it to the inactive volcano in the centre of the continent and leave it at that. The sea around it is another story entirely.
  • Beneath the surface there is a lot of frozen monsters and otherwise mystical creatures. There’s also a lot of runes hidden by the Rune users ages ago.

Morgan is an idiot (aka: the Revelation!)

“So…” Hurley, the chief navigator, drawled as he leant towards his captain. “The Saguaroine? She’s a pretty one ain’t she?”

“She has a name. Use it,” Morgan retorted, looking up from his book to glare at him. “And I don’t know what you mean.”

“Oh please,” the older man scoffed and took a gulp from his tankard. “It’s clear as day that you have a thing for her. Why else would you spend so much time with her?”

“She’s infuriating yet intelligent. The only reason I spend so much time with her is because she’s the only decent conversation partner apart from Maurice on this ship.”

“That stings, Captain,” Hurley pulled an exaggerated expression of hurt before laughing and wandering off to his group of friends.

Morgan watched him go with a slightly murderous expression on his face. “I can think of many things that’ll sting a lot more,” he muttered under his breath.

“He’s right, though.”

“Not you too, Maurice,” the young male groaned and slumped forward slightly.

Maurice chuckled and sat down. “You’re a lot like your father in that respect. He had a thing for women with sharp tongues and spines of steel as well.” 

“Look, just because she’s intelligent and witty and can handle herself in a fight and doesn’t take shit from anyone and just so happens to be beautiful doesn’t mean I like Nenet.”

“You sure about that?” 

“Ye-” Morgan cut himself to stare straight ahead with a blank look on his face as he went over what he had just said. He’d called her beautiful, hadn’t he? 

“Oh. Oh god.”

“And the penny drops,” Maurice muttered.

World Building for FGS pt.3 Saguaro

  • Saguaro doesn’t really have a government or royal family, at least not a set one. Several different parties, one lead by a descendant of the last royal family, vie for control but usually their conflicts dont leave the main cities. 
  • Saguaro is based on ancient Egypt which means there’s a lot of tombs and ruined statues of rulers long gone lying around.
  • Every known spirit, which is basically equivalent to a god/goddess, including Darkness and Light has a temple located somewhere in Saguaro. Most of them are located in the Valley of the Gods but some of the major cities have them as well. Port towns generally have temples dedicated to the spirits related to the sea.
  • Saguaro was famous in the old days for their Rune users, a type of magic user native to Saguaro who could call creatures of legends to their side. Fear of them soon lead to many of them either leaving or going into hiding by masquerading as a normal human. Nowadays there is only one known family to consistently produce Rune users and even then, only one was born in this generation.
  • Every legend known to mankind is believed to a certain degree in Saguaro. Every tale has a smidgen of truth, after all.

World Building for FGS pt.2 Erica

  • Erica is known as the place lost things and people go to be found. Sometimes that can be in unexpected ways but everyone eventually ends up where they’re supposed to.
  • The port towns are known for the artists that make a living there. People say that you can practically smell the salt in the pictures depicting the sea.
  • Calluna, the capital of Erica, is known throughout for the temple dedicated to Light.  Erica is unique in the fact that nowhere in the land is there a place specifically dedicated to Darkness and that is intentional.
  • The demonym for people from Erica is Erican.
  • Erica is largely seen as the most powerful continent and there’s ambassadors from every other continent there intent on keeping the peace. The only continent that refuses is Saguaro and there’s a reason for that.

In the span of about an hour irl, Chana has broken up with her girlfriend because they were drifting apart, found out that said girlfriend had a fling with her twin sister when they were in the early days of their relationship, fought and practically disowned her sister, and became a barista.

I think about the whole “no one re-blogs anymore” thing and, although this won’t exactly help spread things around, here’s a simple thing to make creators smile:

Comments on posts are amazing to get. 

Just leave simple comments. A simple “I liked it!” might not seem like much, but it tells the creator that you did in fact read it! Even just an emoji makes us happy! So take two seconds after reading our stuff before scrolling on to write a simple “I liked it!” under there. That’s all it takes.

He half turned in the direction of the voice but the owner crashed into him before he could say anything in response.

“What, Mallory?” he looked down at the giggling woman.

“Nothing~” she sang, hiding her giggles behind her hand. “Just wanted to see if you would answer me.”

“Why wouldn’t I?”

“Oh, because you ignore most people?”

“You’re not most people,” he said dryly, rolling his eyes when Mallory gasped dramatically.

“Careful, sunshine. I might start thinking you have a thing for me.” Mallory kissed him on the cheek, winked and flounced off.
